Prashant And Nithya Enjoy Their Connection With The Stars

A Superb Clear Night Reveals A Wondrous Array Of Deep Space Objects

…. Our first Overnight Stay tour of the long weekend was a great hit for Prashant and Nithya. The Indian culture has a close connection with the stars (we have a high number of Indian guests book our tours) and the variety and brilliance of individual stars and massive clusters was an amazing sight for this happy pair.

We commenced the tour with a view of Betelgeuse – a massive red giant in Orion. Its colour and brightness are impressive(!) and it is also a good place to start to help guests become familiar with focusing the instrument (by tour’s end, they are experts :)). During the evening we viewed clusters of stars of all sizes, nebulae (gas clouds) and galaxies. We also gazed upon magic Jupiter, revealing moons and colouful bands traversing the gas giant. As newcomers to looking through a telescope, Prashant and Nithya were in awe of the views and thoroughly enjoyed their astronomy tour experience. And of course, we are delighted with that!
