Sonja Treats Nigel To An Astronomical Treat En Route To Melbourne From Sydney

It was a short week packed with planned adventures and activities, with the highlight being an Overnight Stay Tour with Honeysuckles Astronomy Tours. And it was a great success! Nigel – an amateur astronomer in his own right, owns a refractor telescope, however in the light-polluted environment of big cities these days, “it rarely gets to see the light of night“, if you’ll pardon the twist. Enter our astronomy tours, by the ocean.

The night was still and clear and stars were aplenty. Out tour treated Nigel and Sonja to a smorgasbord of night sky delights. Nigel was almost overwhelmed by the number of stars he saw during the evening – and the amazing array of objects in which the stars were presented to the guests. It was a fabulous birthday present thoroughly enjoyed by both parties. We think Nigel’s telescope could be taken out in the country away from Sydney’s lights very soon for a catch up view of some of the sights they both enjoyed whilst staying with us.

This was an amazing tour. Looking at clusters, nebulas and galaxies millions of light years away is mind blowing.

We did the Astronomy Tour with a one night stay in the lovely house situated only a stones throw away of the 90 Mile Beach.

Bruce, our host is professional and extremely knowledgeable. Bruce ensured we had the best viewing on the night and that we saw many interesting stars, clusters, Nebulas and galaxies. He explained everything about what he was showing us and definitely knows his stuff.

Will would love to do the tour again in a different time of year for a different perspective of the sky.  Sonja S   Google
