Astronomy Buff Madeleine Takes Inspiration To Explore Space More

A birthday gift from Alex was enjoyed equally when the couple hired a babysitter and travelled down to The Honeysuckles from the heart of diary country, Maffra, to enjoy an extensive astronomy tour with us. As we have experienced several times lately, our tour guests have their own telescope at home, but have not been active in using it. Sometimes it’s a question of not understanding the equipment; other times just wondering “well where do we begin?” One thing is likely … for motivation and a few clues, it is helpful spending an evening doing an astronomy tour with us … We all start out with basic gear and “where to from here?”. Sometimes a night just “doing it” with someone experienced, might be all it needs to get you started.

Alex and Madeleine spent several hours exploring many different objects covering a wide range of marvellous sights that are up in space – just waiting there for everyone to see. It’s an armchair ride you take on one of our tours, with objects explained and viewed through the eyepiece. Most guests are in amazement with what they see. Details like size and distance just further add to the awe-inspiring feelings one can have. Following each tour, we provide our tour guest with a memento listing the objects they viewed and what they were. It’s a handy reference for later on. We had a terrific night; everyone enjoyed themselves – including the host!
