A Family Birthday Present For Heather

Heather, George, Phil and Alice Enjoy A Celebration Under The Stars, By The Beach

Travelling from within the Gippsland area, the family group booked an overnight stay tour for Heather’s birthday in order to take a journey amongst the stars and galaxies. The sky was clear and in autumn a delightful variety of exciting objects can be viewed through the telescope.

The Southern Sky is noted for its superb objects given the southern hemisphere is more favourably orientated to the centre of our own galaxy than the northern hemisphere. The great Tarantula Nebula and Eta Carina Nebula are two of many wonders. The two most spectacular Globular Clusters also sit very far south in our skies. Our Gippsland family enjoyed all these marvellous objects and more during their evening of observing.
