Julia and Max, Annette and Tony Have A Night Out To Remember At The Honeysuckles
The local group – living only twenty minutes from Honeysuckles Astronomy Tours “HQ”, arrived for our “Evening Only Tour” at around sunset. The skies were clear and the anticipation was high for a night of adventure and unexpected delights … And they were not disappointed.
Starting with a couple of bright stars … with a “story”, the group of 4 commenced with objects that enabled them to become familiar with focusing and other aspects of observing through our telescope. Familiarity with the equipment is an important start for a lengthy and enjoyable evening’s observing through our large telescope and good focusing is key. We ensure our guests are trained in this to get the most out of their evening tour.
A host of southern sky stunners including spectacular star forming regions, unbelievable clusters of stars, the odd galaxy or two (!) and fabulous Jupiter, made for an interesting and varied tour of deep space. All four, with limited past observing experience, were amazed at what they saw. It was a wonderful evening’s introduction to something all should see at least once in their life to get a sense of proportion of who we are and where we fit in the universe. It’s quite the reckoner 🙂
“Thank you for showing us so much! Everybody had a really great time and we are taking a lot with us from it. It was a special experience and we will recommend it. 🙂
All the Best!” Julia
