Second Australia Day Long Weekend Tour A Great Success

Excellent Sky And Beach Conditions Welcome Family Guests

The second overnight stay tour for Honeysuckles Astronomy Tours for the Australia Day long weekend saw family of four Andrey, Laura, Lucy and Max enjoy a great getaway from the “big smoke” – literally. While smoke from bushfires drifted across Melbourne and environs, the east was subject to entirely different weather conditions. A  mild easterly breeze helped keep temperatures comfortable and the air clear. Our family was able to enjoy the best of both worlds, swimming by day and gazing at some of the outstanding sights our great southern sky has to offer.

Laura, who had booked a tour with us some time ago, had a family interest in the stars, though their experience at looking through a telescope was very limited. They were enthralled with what they saw. The variety of objects and the different colours and forms star clusters, nebulae and galaxies can take presented one surprise followed by another. Even 6 year old Max loved the sights. The ocean vista and swims was icing on a great weekend getaway cake, making the most of what Australia can offer.
