Happy Birthday To David!

Nicky Provides A Stellar Gift
David has followed “space news” for decades and now it was time to get a closer look at the real thing. Looking at photographs is one thing, but it’s a whole new experience to see a nebula, or cluster of stars as it actually is, through the eyepiece of a telescope. The object through the eyepiece is “real” … A photograph is a very “favoured” representation of that object.
The couple were not entirely new to looking through telescopes, however our large aperture instrument was well ahead of their past experiences. Globular clusters, glorious nebulae where stars are formed and double and triple stars were just some of the objects David and Nicky enjoyed throughout the evening. Our Solar System’s largest member – Jupiter, with its coloured bands and four prominent Galilean Moons was also a highlight. Tours in summer and autumn are popular with guests given the milder night time conditions.
