An overnight getaway from Melbourne was called for and Honeysuckles Astronomy Tours, by the beach is a perfect destination for astronomy and beach lovers. Ideal conditions welcomed the pair who experienced a rare opportunity to see some of the spectacular sights a dark night sky can offer.

High in the sky at this time of year is the constellation of Crux (Southern Cross) and Centaurus which offer some fabulous individual objects to gaze upon. The Milky Way is also high in the night sky enabling superb views of one of the nicest patches of the Milky Way seen from Earth – the region around Eta Carinae. David and Hunter saw objects they hadn’t imagined they could see and we delight at guest’s reactions upon such occasions. Whether it’s one star with special features, or 100 billion stars in the one view, the wonders never end on one of our tours. It will change a person’s sense of the “world” we live, for ever.

Found Bruce online with his amazing telescope. The deal is a nights stay and a 2 to 3 hour star gazing tour and Bruce’s famous omelete in the morning.
We were welcomed by Bruce. The property backs onto the beach which was fantastic. Just a 20 second mini hike and you are at a pristine beach.
When Bruce got the telescope out of the shed, we were in awe. It is massive.
We were lucky we had perfectly clear skies. I have never seen more stars in my life.
Bruce’s knowledge was great. He explained what we were looking at and gave you information that was easy to understand. The images were amazing. I cannot describe them. It is better to have a look for yourself.
We had a great stay. Also, the omelete was really good, even for fussy me!
