What’s A Stellar Nursery?

Richard and Margaret spent an evening observing some of the southern skies great objects and during the night had the pleasure to view two of the finest stellar nurseries visible from Earth …. A stellar nursery is a place where stars are born …. formed. Rising from massive clouds of gas, tiny stars finally burst into life, producing heat and light for all to see. One of the most famous of such nebulae is the Great Orion Nebula. M42 is spellbinding. Visible as a hazy patch in the sky to the naked eye, it is at a reasonably close 1,300 light years distance. Using a telescope to look at and through the gas cloud, it is a whole new experience.  It’s beauty can only be described as a cosmic work of art.

” … With Bruce’s astronomy expertise, his very large and powerful telescope, and perfect weather his Astrotour was an amazing experience. We saw things in the night sky we had never thought that we would see, from twin stars to far away galaxies (but let’s not give too much away…). Bruce is very friendly and we also had a few laughs looking up and into the night sky. Highly recommended.”   Richard
