South American New Aussies Enjoy A Night Under The Stars

Sergio & Maria From Colombia And Miguel & Maria From Ecuador Are Making Australia Home

… And all with Masters Degrees also just love the southern starry skies and endless sandy beaches. The astronomy tour and weekend away was Sergio’s birthday present to his wife Maria, but both are keen astronomy enthusiasts. Their friends Miguel and Maria (Maria number 2 :)) are also very keen stargazers. The luxury of having a large aperture telescope all to themselves together with a beach holiday (the beach almost entirely to themselves also!) was too good to pass up. A fire available in the house and open fire pit in the garden to toast marshmallows by, added to a special weekend away out amongst nature.

Cloud had been forecast, but a grand tour was had just the same. Saturn wowed them all but our two magnificent southern globular clusters won the most popular prize too. Not to be left behind, open colourful star cluster the “Jewel Box” won a “my favourite object” with one of the tour group. It just demonstrates that everyone is different in what they like and rarely do all members of a group pick the same object as everyone’s first favourite. The night was a lengthy tour, everyone very satisfied with what they had viewed during the preceding hours.
